Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of needles into specific points in the body.  These points are along the myofascial network, a collection of connective tissues around the musculature.  These are points that are rich in nerve endings, lymphatic channels, and small blood vessels.  Insertion of the needle causes microtrauma that then recruits the body’s natural healing properties to reduce pain and inflammation, and promote tissue healing and tissue repair in dogs and other animals.  It is especially helpful for neuropathic pain and chronic pain.

Sea Legs Integrative Veterinary Health serves the greater Boston area to provide acupuncture services for dogs, cats and other beloved pets.
